Plain answers

What agents ask first.

A second number · Census Bureau
49,873
business applications in Fulton County in 2025, per the Census Bureau's Business Formation Statistics county series - all new businesses, not carriers alone - up 5.3% on 2024. Last week's authority filings sit against that trend.
Where does this list come from?

FMCSA publishes every application and grant of operating authority, daily, with the carrier's address. It publishes no county view. We read the week's filings Sunday night, keep the ones addressed in Fulton County, and throw out the 1 that are reinstatements, fleets or brokers.

How fast do they decide?

A new carrier's BMC-91X insurance filing has to be on file within about two weeks or the application is dismissed at sixty days; most new ventures bind within three to seven days of filing, and most pick a factor before their first load clears. The list is read Sunday night and posted Monday; letters from it mail Tuesday.

Why only ten carriers on the page?

The public page shows the top ten of the 19 with the reason each made the cut. The full week goes out by email every Monday at 7 AM Eastern, free for your first month.

Dear Marcus,

Congratulations on filing for your operating authority for Bell Freight LLC last week.

Before your first loads there are three things that trip up most new carriers: the BMC-91X insurance filing that has to be on file before your authority goes active, IRP and IFTA before the first interstate load, and the new-entrant safety audit that comes inside your first year.

I put together a one-page new-entrant checklist for carriers like yours. If it would be useful, call or text me - no obligation.
